Ciência’19

The Science Meeting 2019, which took place between 8 and 10 July at the Lisbon Congress Center, was designed to promote the broad debate of the main themes and challenges of the scientific agenda beyond the universe of research. Therefore, the main objective of this meeting was to stimulate not only participation but also the interaction between researchers, the business sector and the general public.

It was promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology in collaboration with Ciência Viva – National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture and the Parliamentary Commission for Education and Science, with the institutional support of the Government through the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor.

Chiara Manfletti, President of Portugal Space – Portuguese Space Agency, was one of the invited to participate in Space Session, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first human landing, and you can see a video interview here or read another one that appeared in the Jornal Ciência made at the end of CanSat Portugal 2019, on the island of Santa Maria, in the Azores, where she spoke about the importance of youth participation in initiatives like this and the position that Portugal may occupy in the future in the space sector.
