A. What data do we collect?

Portugal Space collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information (Name, email address, country of origin)
  • The company you work for and the position you hold in said company

B. How we collect your data

You directly provide the Portuguese Space Agency with all the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online for any of our services
  • Contact us directly with an inquiry

C. How we use your data

Portuguese Space Agency collects your data so that we can:

  • Help you with your participation in our events
  • Email you with information about news and events that we organise

The Portugal Space does not share your information.

D. How we store your data

The Portuguese Space Agency guarantees that all measures are taken (through firewalls, personal passwords and limited access to files) to ensure that your data is protected.

Data storage and protection is managed internally by Portugal Space.

Portuguese Space Agency will keep your contact and professional data so long as your email is active or until you have asked us to delete your data.

E. Data sharing

To optimise the organisation of our conferences, and your ability to receive information about them, we may call – for certain activities – upon third parties specialised in their field (particularly communication, website management, and activities on social media).

We ensure that the data and privacy policies of our subcontractors are in line with our own.

F. Your data protection rights

Portugal Space would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request Portuguese Space Agency copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Portugal Space correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Portugal Space to complete information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that the Portuguese Space Agency erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Portugal Space restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the Portuguese Space Agency’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Portugal Space transfer the data that we have collected on you to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

The Portuguese Space Agency Web Portal

The Web Portal of the Portuguese Space Agency presents news, information and the latest imagery and videos on Portuguese Space Agency activities to a broad spectrum of people interested in space and space activities.
 
The Web Portal offers the general public the possibility to learn about Portugal Space and our activities. It also serves as a channel to link visitors to Portugal Space’s more specialised scientific and technical sites, which are of interest to various space-related communities. 

Access to, and use of, the Portugal Space website constitutes acceptance of the following general terms and conditions. 

Neither Portuguese Space Agency nor any other party involved in creating, producing or delivering the website shall be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages arising from Users’ access to, or use of, the website. The Web Portal does not guarantee the accuracy of information provided by external sources and accepts no responsibility or liability for any consequences arising from the use of such data. 

Though Portugal Space uses the best technical standards to control its site, the material on this website may inadvertently include technical inaccuracies or other errors. The Portuguese Space Agency does not sell or rent its website users’ names, addresses, email addresses or other personal information. 

The IP address is a number automatically given to your computer when you are surfing the internet. Servers that host web pages, automatically identify your computer through its IP number. Portugal Space uses IP addresses to carry out statistics. However, as IP addresses and personal identification are not linked to each other users remain anonymous.

Cookies help Portugal Space to know which pages are visited most often and help the Portuguese Space Agency to ensure that its website responds to users’ needs.

From time to time the Portugal Space website contains forums and blogs or other services enabling posts and commenting (collectively termed ‘forums’). Users agree to use forums only to send and receive messages and materials strictly related to the particular forum. When using the Portuguese Space Agency forum users agree not to do any of the following:  

  • Users may not download, distribute or otherwise publish through the Portuguese Space Agency website any content which is libellous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive or in any way violates any laws.

Portugal Space does not and cannot review every message posted by users on forums and is not responsible for the content of any messages posted. Portuguese Space Agency reserves the right to delete, move or edit, at its sole discretion, messages that it deems abusive, defamatory, obscene, in violation of copyright laws or unacceptable. Users shall remain solely responsible for the content of their messages. 

Users acknowledge that any submissions may be edited, removed, modified, published, transmitted and displayed by Portugal Space. 

Users should be aware that all forums and discussion groups are public and not private communications. Further, users acknowledge that chats, postings, conferences and any other form of communication by other users are not endorsed by the Portuguese Space Agency and that such communications shall not be considered as having been reviewed, screened or approved by Portugal Space. 

The Portuguese Space Agency encourages parents or guardians to stay with children under 13 when the children are online and to participate in any interactive activities offered on the website. The Portuguese Space Agency will not process any personal data of a child under 13 without the previous consent of a parent, guardian, teacher or other person exercising control of the child. No personal data or information will be used for promotional or marketing purposes. 

The contents of the Portugal Space Web Portal are intended for the personal and non-commercial use of its users. The Portuguese Space Agency grants permission to users to visit the site, and to download and copy information, images, documents and materials from the website for users’ personal non-commercial use. Portugal Space does not grant the right to resell or redistribute any information, documents, images or material from its website or to compile or create derivative works from material on its website. Use of material on the website is subject to the terms and conditions outlined below. 

All material published on the Portugal Space Web Portal is protected by copyright and owned or controlled by the Portuguese Space Agency or the party credited as the provider of the content, software or other material.
